*Ben, our 10 year foundation stallion, has been with us since he was a weanling. Trained to ride as a 3 year old he has only been ridden sporadically since then due to other commitments of mine. Ever the gentleman, his calm and quiet demeanor very much sets the mood on our farm. His bloodlines consist of an eclectic blend of Damele, Cypress and Skjonsberg breeding.
To date *Ben has sired 15 foals. He is heterozygous for both the curl and black genes. 2/3 rd 's of his offspring to date are female. His foals tend to favor their dams in terms of size, substance and style but he does consistently add solid bone, clean legs, tough feet and a willing, teachable disposition. He is a terrific stallion for preserving all of the attributes which make a great mare, a great mare.
His eldest offspring are under saddle and have proven themselves to be capable and reliable mounts in addition to being treasured companions for their owners.
As is the case with any foundation stallion in a progressive breeding program, *Ben has worked his way out of a job. We have retained several of his daughters for the brood band and are offering *Ben for sale. He will be available to outside mares until sold. Contact Lynn for more details.

Chuck is our main stallion here at Cozy Nook. Has proven himself as a sire. Great disposition. Is now a part of a Mounted Search And Rescue and has started training for Air Scent detection. He is a strong ambassador for the breed, gentle and safe around my children.
Amazing curl with sleek wavey coat in the summer. Solid build, hearty and great conformation. We took Chuck to an expo recently and he excelled in every way, doing the breed proud. We put him through some of the CSB obstacle course and he was amazing.
Possible shipping of semen with appropriate fees. Chuck has made it into our Hearts and Lives here.

Rhys has an exceptional temperament, impeccable ground manners, and is a dream to ride. He has incredible suspension coupled with extraordinary agility and a back that just does not move while he is in motion.
Rhys has a powerful, ground covering stride; all the while maintaining his responsiveness to aids and sensitivity to his rider/handler. Rhys is highly intelligent, quickly learns new lessons, is eager to please, and actively seeks new challenges (like rounding up escaped Highlander Cows and jumping odd obstacles).
While Rhys has a commanding presence and personality, he is also gentle enough that our nine year old niece handles him with ease. Given how versatile Rhys is, he is the ideal stallion to breed your mares to for perfectly conformed offspring capable of excelling in any direction.
Rhys has several progeny on the ground, from a diverse range of mares. Each of his foals are a marked improvement on their dams. Rhys brings to the Curly horse forward movement, a free shoulder, correct conformation and three gaits which are balanced, elastic, and expressive. To heavier built mares he brings refinement, to lighter built mares he brings solidity. Rhys is offered via live cover or AI (fresh cooled). Will require collection and shipping charges, which would have to be determined at the point in time of interest.

It is with great honor that we introduce you to our beloved Curly Stallion, Sandor. Sandor is our up and coming stallion prospect here at Skygazer Ranch. Sandor hails from Shelly White's of Curly Standard Place in Summerland Canada! He is sired by the Curly Sporthorse stallion, Sandman's Magic, and out of Aursovain's Legacy (a Dutch Warmblood/Arabian mare going back to the influential Dutch Warmblood sire Pion.) He was born June 16, 2008 and is a lovely bay Curly Warmblood colt who should mature to 15.2HH. Sandor's CSI and ICHO registration is pending.
Sandor has exemplary movement and conformation; he is uphill, forward moving, fluid, balanced, and graceful. His gaits embody correct movement; great reach, suspension and extension, powerful piston like hock action along with controlled collection and coupled with powerful and ground covering strides!! His form is impeccable over jumps. Sandor is magnificent to behold in motion or repose. He also has lovely curls coating his body; ringlets in his mane and tail, tiny curls in his ears, ringlets in fetlocks, along with curls throughout his body coat in winter, shedding to a sleek body coat in the summer. Sandor is a charismatic young stallion with a lot of presence. He has a gorgeous, old soul quality to his eyes and carries himself with 'The Look of Eagles'. Sandor has an exceptional mind and temperament; he's extremely trusting, responsive, sensitive, and in-tune with his handler, he retains his lessons, and is a delight to be around and work with. Sandor is quiet for the Vet and Farrier, along with other handlers working with him in a variety of ground work exercises.
We have extremely high hopes for Sandor as our future Sporthorse competition and stud horse here at Skygazer Ranch!! Sandor will be very competitive in any arena; dressage, jumping, eventing, not only because he was bred for it, but also because he holds the heart for it and possesses that extra special "it" factor. Look for Sandor here in the Pacific Northwest competing in-hand through the 2010 show season.
Sandor will be bred to a select few mares in the Spring of 2010 for his first foals in 2011. If you are interested in a Sandor sired foal, please call or e-mail for more information. Stud Fee: In-hand, live cover breedings offered for Private Treaty to select, quality mares, in 2010. Sandor can be offered with AI (fresh cooled). Will require collection and shipping charges, which would have to be determined at the point in time of interest.

*Aishihik Twist is a 15.1 hand, true black, full curly stallion with a very kind, friendly, and bold temperament. He has forward athletic movement with lots of stretch, suspension, and the refinement of the modern sport horse. His glistening black coat does not fade, not even during the long hot days of summer. He also keeps his long split mane and full tail year round. Aishihik Twist was saddle trained by Chet Martin who had given Aishihik a good solid beginning taking him on trail rides and a local horse show where they performed with confidence. Aishihik Twist has also completed several months of dressage training. He did very well schooling training level and first level dressage under the skillfull hands of Rebecca Schoenhardt. She was amazed with his temperament and ability to remember the new things he learned. We are pleased with the foals Aishihik Twist has sired thus far, all have been athletic, refined, and correct with good neck length and pretty heads.

One Curly Drifter will be 5YO spring 2010. He is 16hh, chestnut with a star, strip and snip. He has a very full split mane and full tail that does not shed. His mane and tail has three colors, chestnut, flaxen and black. He is very gaited to foxtrot, and I think he also does a running walk and possibly a rack. Quality above all else....
That is our motto here at Twisted Oaks Farm. Conformation, temprament, dependability, and an ideal. Ideal conformation, or that of the breed standard for the Purebred American Bashkir Curly. A temprament, that surpasses even our expectations of this stallion. His gentle fathering nature, to his soft disposition, and yet the presance that says, I am King. There is no mistaking this stallion for just another stud. At twelve years young, Shadow has shown trainers, that this stallion can be broke at his age. That he can do what is asked of him and exceed their expectations. That this stallion, at a raw stage in his riding years, shows unlimited potential as a show horse in an age old competition that Dressage is. Though he remains yet unshown, his ability in the breeding shed has been undeniably spectactular! With Shadow's Hawk Spirit, aka Heartbreaker, already having been named CSI TL Horse of the year two consecutive years in a row, this was just the beginning. Another stunning son, and full brother to HeartBreaker, is *Angel's spirit, owned by Barbara Caroll of Stag Creek Farm. Once more, a young stallion that has begun making his own stamp within the breed, Spirit impresses so easily with his near perfect conformation and his absolute, in the palm of your hand, temprament. One more son of Shadow's, a 2 year old gelding named FloraLake Mi-Ebony Thunder, aka Gryphon, owned by Norma McDonald, already stands an impressive 15.3 hands high and is excelling at his trainers!! Gryphon is expected to mature at least 17hh!!! Through and through, and with each new foal crop that has come, the quality of his offspring continue to impress. With their long leg's to steady and even gaits and their trainable attitudes, they are able to pass on their sire's traits with each generation. Tall and elegant horses, long and beautiful necks, and their size. On average, Shadow's progeny range from 15.1hh to 15.3hh. If you want quality, trainability, temprament, and a sound investment, Shadow is the sire for your next foals!
You just can't go wrong. Shadow's Pedigree

Hypoallergenic American Bashkir Curly/American Quarter Horse Stallion. His excellent bloodlines have something for the curly enthusiasts and well as the Quarter Horse lovers. His Sire is Seekers Warrior*, top Curly Warrior Foundation Stallion - known producer of top class working and pleasure horses. Sadly, Seekers Warrior died last year, making Warrior Lynx one of the last breeding Stallions of this line. His dam, Lynette Lynx American Quarter Horse #2139367 has excellent bloodlines, with Foundation Quarter Horse sires Doc Bar, King, Leo, Joe Reed, Poco Bueno running through her pedigree.
"Trouble" (who is everything but) charms everyone he meets. His gentle disposition is so outstanding that you cannot fail to fall in love with him. Friendly and gentle to both children and adults - ridden by the smallest jockeys and busiest cow hands. This horse will never disappoint in any situation. Natural Horsemanship enthusiasts will have seen him regularly as GaWaNi Pony Boy's right hand man on many of his horsemanship books, when still only a 2 year old colt, and they both travelled the US extensively over 6 years, teaching and exhibiting. This horse is a once in a lifetime horse - let him give your mare a once in a lifetime foal...
FACTS:
Line-Back Dun
15hh
Hypoallergenic coat - will not cause reaction to all but the most extreme sufferers. We recommend a hair test to prove it!! Curly coat in the winter and straight in the summer.
Curly gene dominant, so bred to your straight mare you will have a 50% chance of a hypoallergenic and/or curly foal; bred to your curly mare you will have a 75% chance of curls and 100% hypoallergenic.
Excellent Bloodlines
Amazing Disposition
Good bone, dense hooves, stamina.
If you are looking to breed quality stock for sport, work or pleasure, with good bone, excellent temperament and the work ethic of the curly and quarter horse breeds, this is the stallion you are looking for. There is no other stallion like him.
Note: The little filly pictured to the left was sired by Trouble last year via frozen semen by AI. The owner says her temperament is unbelievable... Trouble could be homozygous for loveability!

New! Heartbreaker is for sale!
HeartBreaker is a fine blend of Canadian and American bloodlines. He has excellent sport horse conformation, stands 15.1HH and weighs 1100lbs. He has a great willing to work attitude that he passes on to his foals. His powerful forward movement and expression and suspension in his gaits will improve most curly mares and many WB mares. HeartBreaker comes from a stellar line of curly horses. He has a lovely swinging walk, an expressive, hanging trot, and a forward uphill canter. He received a "9" on his canter in one of his 2008 competitions. Judges consistently like HB, his workman like attitude and his lovely gaits are always commented on. Many folks can hardly believe that quiet, calm guy is a stallion in competition! HeartBreaker produces quality foals that will have potential for grand things....He is a high color producer, black is his next favorite color to stamp his foals. Conformation to compete, the "heart" to succeed, makes for a great combonation in a foal...He stamps his foals with a well set on neck, strong top line, and nice hip, ( not so common in the curly breed ). Curls and color are topping on the cake!
After a good start on his career, in hand, 2007 + HeartBreaker has been shown under saddle. We are pleased to announce some of the highlights of his budding career.

Take a look at the newest addition to the High Desert breeding herd! Foundation bred 3 y/o Storm Warning, ABC 3663 is a black/grey Tobiano out of Rip Curl by the famous stallion Warrior's Big Sioux. Currently at 14.2 hands we expect him to finish out at 15 hands. His beautifully refined conformation makes for lovely floating movement and he is a joy to watch! His unique color also brings lots of possibilities to the table. Very curly coated, with a long spiral mane and full tail that does not shed he is sure to produce excellent foals with everything we strive for...conformation, movement and beauty. Currently in training we look for him to excel in Hunter Pleasure and Sport Horse divisions, but expect him to perform in Western and Trail as well. We will be offering him for either live cover or AI in the 2010 season.

WW Peter Lakota, ABC# 3686, promises to be an exceptional breeding stallion.
One of the last own sons of Curly Tom, he exhibits both Tom's exceptional size (he will mature at 16+ hands) as well as his famous gentle personality. From his dam (Lakota Woman) he is showing the energy and athleticism frequently seen in the Standing Rock Lines of Curlies. He has an exceptional Curly coat and maintains his mane and tail.
Currently under saddle, his movement is fluid and free flowing. Conformation wise he is spendid, with strong legs and great feet. Having just turned three in March, Peter is showing us what he will bring to High Desert Equine as a breeding stallion.
He will be an excellent choice for those looking to develop Sport Horse lines with both his height and sleek conformation, as well his intelligence and willingness to learn. He is a dark bay with 4 white socks.

Copper's Rainmaker is a second generation Stallion at our farm.
He passes on his great disposition and fabulous movement to all his offspring. And of course there is the Curl! Rain stands at 15 hands and carries alot of Damele and Mead lines.
Rain is a personable and easy-to-manage horse. He genuinely wants to please the people working with him and is quite the model when a camera is present.
He seems to know how to pose to get just the right shot, whether it is showing off his fluid movement or standing for "stud pictures."
With his tight curls and excellent bloodlines, Rain is a superb choice for your next breeding.

Vegas is a dark bay tobiano Dominant Curly Missouri Fox Trotter stallion. In fact, he is the only Curly MFT breeding stallion in the world with a unique color. All other curly MFT stallions are currently sorrel in color. He is also the only Curly Fox Trotter stallion in the world available for stallion service with no Walker's Prince T. in his pedigree. This offers a unique and rare bloodline as 90% of all Curly Fox Trotters get their curly gene through Walker's Prince T.
He is of the Bashkir Curly Horse bloodlines and is triple registered with the MFTHBA, ICHO and the SSHEBA. Vegas continually amazes us and our trainer with his high intelligence, gentle nature and natural gait which is among the smoothest and best quality he has seen.
His mind is like a steel trap door and he never forgets a lesson even after years without continued training! Not only is he a quick learner, sweet natured, and naturally gaited, Vegas offers straight legs, a strong short top line, and nice strong bones to his foals. Vegas stands at about 14.3 hands, but produces a variety of heights depending on the size of the mare. Many of his offspring are taller than Vegas. His first son, Dallas, stands at 15.2 hands. Both Vegas' parents are of rare dominant Curly Fox Trotter ancestry. Vegas gets his curls from Curly Jim, the original Fox Trotting curly stallion.
At this time we are able to offer frozen semen for Vegas. So far, our clients have had a 75% success rate with Vegas' frozen semen. Every season we also have a new selection of his curly foals for sale. Please contact us if you want to be notified as each new foal arrives or if you would like to speak with some of our past clients.

Chip is for sale! Click for more details.
Chip is a lovely bay 15.1 hand stallion with respectful nature which he seems to pass on easily. He has started a show career and done well- as has most of his offspring. He has thrown 100% curls when crossed with curly coated mares, smooth coated mares and "other" breed mares. He has great versatility in delivering tall sporty foals, medium sized and smaller sporty pony offspring, depending on the mare he is bred to. Of the 28 foals we have worked with- they are all pleasant, quickly trainable, smoothly gaited and many have gone on to compete very succesfully. Click for more about Chip.
