*RR Samurai, ABC 3364

Description:

*Sam joined the family in 2007.  He was a retirement present for Brian.  *Sam hails from the breeding program of Verlin & Janet Rau / Rosebud River Curlies.  No longer breeding Curlies, the Rau's breeding program was well known for the unusual size and athletism of their horses and *Sam is no exception.  At 16'3 HH *Sam is amongst the very tallest of Curly horses.  With his remarkable size comes a nice, gentle temperament.  He's not apt to spook or shy, nor run away; all important qualities for a husband horse.   

*Sam was started under saddle as a 3 year old by the well known trainer Mark Grice.  Although the basics were firmly in place it was readily obvious that *Sam was still growing and maturing so really wasn't physically ready for full time work.  Armed with that information we decided to let him be for a couple of years.  We would much rather have a sound horse than a lame one.

Now, as a  7 year old he seems to have his body under control and we will be slowly putting him back into work.  He was purchased to be Brian's trail horse but very much has English movement.  As such I have located an instructor who will work with us in English pleasure and perhaps some basic dressage.
